CLIENT
The client is a woodworker who designed exquisite Japanese style furniture with solid Burmese teak wood. He had a keen eye for detail.
Studio Design inspired from Three-tiered Japanese Temple
PROJECT BRIEF
His requirement was that we detail his building with the precision of his furniture ! And he himself was designing furniture with the precision of jewellery !
DESIGN SOLUTION
We studied the process of Japanese woodworking at length. We were amazed to find how every joinery detail was crafted to perfection almost meditatively. In sync with the client’s Japanese furniture making style, we planned the building inspired from a tiered Japanese temple. Full height pivoted shutters in the Design studio open the studio to the eastern morning light.
